Addressing Brokenness in Fashion

At the Global Faith & Work Initiative, we believe every Christian has been called to be a co-creator alongside God to help cultivate creation in ways that push against sin and brokenness.

Three NYC Gotham Fellows were inspired to do just that when they formed Poemia, a wedding dress company that creates their product in a redemptive way. The three founders of Poemia want to ensure that the dress a woman wears on one of the most special days of their life has been made thoughtfully, responsibly, and ethically by using fibers that have been specially selected based on their social and environmental impact. These dresses are made supporting women and families across their global supply chain by ensuring safe working conditions with a living wage.

We hope the story of Poemia will inspire you in your own work today to consider how God is calling you to look at your work and see how you can serve and love him in and through it.
